Does anyone remember this? this was during CITV's phase around 2001-2004 where they invented a load of crap gameshows that never lasted (The only good gameshow of that time being 'Eliminator')

Basically a group of kids lived in a street, but it wasn't a real one, all the residents were actors (very bad actors though) and it was covered in cameras a bit like big brother.

I remember they used to say it was a gameshow they tried to ban and it shown loads of people protesting ;D it was all really poor acting though.

These kids had to do a very dangerous task (allthough a lot of it was staged) I remember one time they had to catch a lion which was running loose in the street!

They'd always have an expert on the matter watching from a monitor explaining what the contestants should do.

Over the 10 weeks, for every task compelted each contestantant won £1,000, but I remember in one episode a contestant lost his temper and dumped a vat of cola all over the over contestants ;D so in the end they all won £9,000....but they never told them they can't actually get it till they turn 18!

I remember this and I didn't like it. It's probably the worst show that CITV have ever shown, it looked so staged, fake and contained some of the most wooden acting I've ever seen. I'm sure that the bad acting was intentional, I hope it was.

The Lion one was the very first episode and it contained some very bad special effects. You could clearly see that it was super-imposed on to the screen, it was hilarious.

I can't believe I watched it right to the end, I think it was because there was nothing else on. To think that classic show's such as Knightmare and Zzzap! had been replaced by this drivel. That whole 2001-2004 era was a bad time for CITV where they were just churning out one bad show after another and they've never recovered from it.

I remember another similarly fake reality show set on a Space Station that was shown (I think) a year later. It had this really annoying American guy who presented it and it was cut short after about 6 or so episodes.

Yeah I remember it being all horribly acted and staged, allthough I don't remember the Lion in the street being superimposed, but it was a very dangerous thing to do if real.

The only other challenges I remember was one where they had to destroy some monster plant which had taken over Dangerville and they had to pour this cheap cola on it to kill it, this was the time they lost and had a vat of cheap cola dumped on them by one annoyed contestant ;D

The other I remember had soemthing to do with some pies which gave everyone food poisoning or something.

and no I can't believe I watched all 10 episodes aswell.

there was an episode where they woke up in medieval times & one of the brunette girls (the tall one) in the love triangle was going to have to marry the king

also the lion in the street and the tall girl called her mum from a phonebox, saying she wanted to leave, because her love interest was flirting with the short girl

yes also the plant they had to kill

i never saw the finale
