Good Points - Repeats of CiTV Classics like Jungle Run, The Worst Witch, My Parents Are Aliens (thats about it LOL)
Bad Points Not enough original programs No Saturday morning shows (CiTV tradition even when it was known as Watch IT!) No Presenters since 2004

Citv has been pretty bland since the afternoon slot on ITV dissapeared.
I only realised recently that Citv had a new logo.

Apparently they're bringing it back, but the studio looks like a ripoff of the CBBC office and it's done using chroma key, not good.

OH, stealing what I put in a thread ( unofficialcitvforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chataboutcitvinthe2010s&action=display&thread=11) But yes, it does look s**t. Also, it said that the presenters would be operating the mixer so they would control when the programme goes like in the broom cupboard. I also can not see Chloe Bale moving from CBBC to CITV to do this either. Unless they used her as an example presenter, as the presenters they used were all from Toonattik, so perhaps they just borrowed them from filming near the location maybe.

Who are the other presenters featured there? The only one I can identify is Jamie Rickers.

Well it's nice i suppose that they're bring back in-vision. CITV is run on a shoe string budget so i know it'll look very bland.
I know this is a bit extreme, but i blame Jamie Oliver for killing off what little spirit CITV had left, by getting junk food adverts banned which was CITV's main source of income. So Michael Grade takes it from it's traditional ITV slot and shunts it to it's own channel, which is like prison in a sense. And it gets replaced by cookery shows which show you how to make junk food!

Regarding the "junk food" advert ban during children's programmes, I believe products for sweets/cereals aimed at kids shouldn't necessarily be banned; to me, the focus of responsibility of ensuring children eat a balanced diet lies with parents, not with television stations or advertising agencies. No one seemed to bat an eyelid on advertising during children's programmes in the 1970s and 1980s - nor the same with advertisements for toys, which IMO are just as bad, if not worse, in generating "pester power" than food products.
But there are so many factors that have brought CITV to its current status; a decrease in ITV's ratings and revenue - therefore its profits - and resources, increased competition on other platforms...
Even though they are financially back in the black, the shifts behind the scenes at ITV have been far too much to see children's programmes make a comeback. So the endless repeats of Midsomer Murders, Rosemary and Thyme and Poirot will carry on as long as it remains cheaper to put out than CITV.

The fact that they have adverts for things like MoneySupermarket.com during their prime time of between 3.25 and 6pm doesn't help them, it's a kids channel not an adults one. Fair play that they show these programmes during the Mini Citv strand as it's usually parents with their kids watching but not during the time where more kids are watching rather than adults.
