You can't talk about CITV in the 80's without mentioning "Knightmare", in my view, the greatest kids TV show ever.
So to get you in the mood for discussing, here's some opening title sequences.
Series 1 to 3 titles.
Series 4 to 5 titles.
Series 6 intro with Series 6 to 8 titles.
So relive your dungeon memories here, don't drain your life-force and remember "The only way is onward, there is no turning back". Ooooohhhh Nasty!.

I unfortunatley never got to see Knightmare, which is a shame because it does look good, perhaps i'll have to watch some eps on youtube. It ended the same year I was born I think, 1994 You missed out on something really great, you can find every episode on YouTube. It was Virtual Reality on television, it was the first time it had ever really been done and it was living character's in a virtual world. I'd be here all night if I had to explain the rules of the game , so I'll try and keep it short. Treguard played by legendary Hugo Myatt, invites a team of 4 into his ante-chamber. 1 member of the team elects himself to be the Dungeoneer and it is he/she who enter's the dungeon and starts the Quest. The Dungeoneer has to wear "The Helmet of Justice" which is a viking helmet with horns in the first 6 series and then a larger one with a visor in the last 2, the helmet obscures the dungeoneer's vision. So it is up to his/hers fellow team member's known as the Advisor's, to direct them where to go, what item's to pick up and put in the knapsack and what to say to character's that they encounter in the dungeon. Threats came from all angles in the Knightmare Dungeon, so you had to make sure your Life-Force was constantly high. You could mantain it by picking up bits of food that was scattered around in various different rooms. In the first 5 series your Life-Force appeared on-screen in the form of a human head and as it started to go down bits of muscle and flesh would rip away from it, until all that was left was a skull. When that happened the game was over, in-dungeon character's could also kill you if you didn't comply to their demands. Sometime's one wrong move could spell the end of a Quest. It wasn't easy either, over 8 series and over 100 episodes only 8 teams ever won and beat the dungeon. In it's heyday it was known as "The toughest challenge on Television". So get thee to YouTube right now, sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

If you were a fan of Knightmare in the 80s/90s and want to discuss the show in more detail. Also if you want to connect with other fans, then the official Forum for the show is where you can do that. It has a forum for each series and there's even a sub-forum for Doctor Who on there too. I'm a proud member of it as is "strike" too, were all very friendly and welcoming people on there. So don't worry. www.knightmare.com/forum/
